Helping Children Grow with Confidence

Maybe your child has always been a worrier or maybe your teen recently started to refuse to engage in activities they previously loved or is constantly complaining about stomach aches. You try to reassure them, follow their schedule or rules, and protect them from triggers, but things continue to escalate. It feels like your child’s anxiety is in charge and you are just along for the ride. Children and teens often experience anxiety differently than adults. Anxiety may show up behaviorally as school refusal, irritability, perfectionism, frequent reassurance seeking, physical complaints, or repetitive behaviors associated with OCD. If anxiety is interfering with your child’s day to day life therapy can help you and your child learn the tools they need to regain their confidence and take back their life from anxiety.

My Approach

I specialize in helping children and adolescents with OCD and anxiety disorders using evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), that are tailored to their developmental stage. Sessions focus on helping young people understand anxiety and other emotions, develop coping tools, build confidence, and gradually face fears instead of avoiding them.

Parents are an important part of treatment. I work closely with caregivers to reinforce skills at home, reduce accommodations that unintentionally maintain anxiety, and support lasting progress beyond the therapy office.
