Parent Coaching
Are you walking on eggshells around your child, afraid that setting a limit will trigger an anxious spiral or lengthy ritual? Parenting a child with anxiety, OCD, or challenging behaviors can be overwhelming, confusing, and frustrating. You want to help your child feel better, but despite your best efforts, you may find yourself caught in a cycle that unintentionally reinforces anxiety or creates ongoing power struggles. What once seemed helpful may no longer be working, leaving your child increasingly dependent on your reassurance or involvement to manage their distress.
Parent coaching provides evidence-based guidance and practical tools to help you better understand your child's behavior, respond with greater confidence, and support lasting growth.
My Approach
I have specialized training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE). These research-backed approaches equip parents with effective skills to reduce challenging behaviors, strengthen the parent-child relationship, and build resilience. By integrating principles from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), PCIT, and SPACE, we'll create a personalized plan tailored to your family's unique strengths, needs, and goals.
Together, we'll focus on strengthening communication, setting consistent and compassionate boundaries, responding effectively to difficult behaviors, reducing accommodations that maintain anxiety, and fostering your child's confidence through healthy independence.
Whether your child is participating in therapy or you're seeking support as a parent, coaching can provide the knowledge and skills you need to create meaningful, lasting change at home. Together, we'll help your family become more confident, connected, and resilient.
